Rigging Supervisor – Expression of Interest Sony Pictures Imageworks is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Supervising riggers interface with production for all asset needs related to rigging and animation. Supervisors inform and deliberate on asset decisions with clients and the other department heads on the production. Supervisors manage the entire rigging team including the lead, if applicable. Supervising riggers are required in all production touchbases, rounds, and client reviews. They schedule and run internal rigging rounds as they see fit, work closely with the head of animation to establish animation style and language, set priorities and deadlines for all assets, and bid all asset work for the show. Qualifications 10+ years of production experience at a 3D studio In depth knowledge of all aspects of rigging Expert sculpting ability for corrective blendshapes and/or facial shapes/phonemes Experience in Linux environment including shell navigation and scripting 3-5 years of leadership experience at a feature 3D studio Managing a large rigging team Strong communication skills both with clients and other internal departments Bonus Qualifications Leadership experience on both CG feature animation and Live Action VFX Significant bidding experience on feature films Please note that you must be able to provide a demo reel that illustrates your relevant artistic and technical experience that also includes the nuances for this specific role.
