Job Summary Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Human Resources the Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, manage candidate pipelines, and ensure a positive candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding. This will be a temporary contract for 6 months. As a Temporary Recruiter, your duties include (but not limited to) Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements. Develop and implement strategic talent acquisition plans to attract top talent for engineering and manufacturing positions within the defence sector. Source, screen, and interview candidates through various channels including job boards, social media, industry events, and networking. Conduct pre-screen interviews to assess candidate’s qualifications, experience, and cultural fit. Coordinate and schedule interviews with Hiring Manager and HR Generalist. Schedule and conduct employment references for successful candidate(s). Manage candidate pipelines and keep detailed records of recruitment activities and outcomes. Provide regular recruitment metrics and reports to management. Advise hiring managers throughout the hiring process on matters such as interviewing techniques, selection protocols, etc. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws in Ontario and Nova Scotia plus company policies. What you require to be successful in this role Possession of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management from a recognized educational institution or equivalent years of experience. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in talent acquisition, preferably within the defence industry. Understanding of engineering and manufacturing roles and requirements. Proven ability to source, attract, and hire top talent. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously. Proficient with applicant tracking systems and recruitment software. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
