Job Information Job Title: Program Advisor Requisition ID: 77380 Ministry: Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration Location: Northern Alberta (Peace River, Grande Prairie, Slave Lake, Fort McMurray or any location in the North of Alberta with a GOA Office building) Full or Part-Time: Full Time Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week Permanent/Temporary: Permanent Scope: Open Competition Closing Date: December 4, 2025 Classification: Program Services 4 Salary: $3,056.50 to $4,006.62 bi-weekly ($79,774 - $104,572/year) Role Responsibilities Build and maintain northern stakeholder relationships (businesses, academia, industry associations) to gather insights, identify issues, and explore partnership opportunities. Collect, analyse and share feedback to inform policy and program development, and to identify and address gaps and opportunities in northern economic development. Develop briefings, position papers, annual outcomes reports, background materials and other correspondence to ensure division executive and ministry representatives have appropriate input for decision making. Contribute to the effective delivery of the NADB program and explore potential northern development programs within JETI. Competencies Agility – maintain professionalism in approaches when working with various clients on differing issues and challenges in program delivery. Creative Problem Solving – demonstrate significant independence in identifying and solving issues faced by stakeholders. Systems Thinking – take a holistic and long-term view when working with stakeholders to provide support and compile feedback. Develop Networks – build and maintain a network of senior industry members and municipal representatives. Qualifications University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by four years related experience, or equivalent. Directly related experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or vice versa. Experience or significant exposure to issues and challenges of Northern Alberta. Knowledge of government policies, strategies and programs at both federal and provincial levels. Awareness of competitive jurisdiction policies and practices impacting retention and attraction of high-demand occupations to the north. Applied knowledge of strategies to develop relationships and protocols considering cultural and corporate norms. Additional Information This is a permanent full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working location will be Northern Alberta (Peace River, Grande Prairie, Slave Lake, Fort McMurray, or any location in the North of Alberta with a GOA Office building).
