If you are an RN that could be described by the words above and are looking to take a next step in your career, we want to hear from youAs a member of the Southbridge Lakehead Management Team, this position will collaborate with the Director of Care to assist with the management of all aspects of nursing to ensure quality resident care. To lead with passion, compassion, and drive is to be a great success in this role.You will be accountable for:Assisting the DOC in the implementation and evaluation of the nursing department initiatives and functionsLeading in the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident careEffectively managing the utilization of nursing suppliesMaintaining a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program levelMaintaining an active presence in mentoring staff while overseeing the provision of quality resident careInitiating investigative and corrective actions related to occupational health and safety; working with WSIB claims and return to work plansWorking collaboratively with the Director of Care on special projects, reviews, and other initiativesAssuming responsibility for the nursing department in the Director of Care’s absenceThe ideal candidate for Lakehead will have the following qualifications and skills:Appropriate current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered NurseA serving heart and a passion for caring for seniorsDemonstrated experience with WSIB management and other aspects of Occupational Health and Safety; experience with falls and harm reduction strategies is an assetPrevious similar experience in long-term care is an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of dutiesAbility to work individually and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks in order of urgencyExcellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skillsDeveloped creative problem-solving skills to look at the “big picture”Interested applicants should apply by sending their resume directly to JJason@southbridgecare.ca.
