Our expertise spans conceptual engineering through commissioning and startup. Pay Range Base pay range: CA$45,000.00/yr – CA$55,000.00/yr. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer COOP/Intern to join our engineering teams in our Calgary, Burnaby, Winnipeg, and Toronto offices. Preference will be given to those who can stay eight months or longer. As an Electrical Engineering COOP, you will work in a team setting and participate in a wide variety of design projects, including telecommunications, transmission, distribution, and substation design, as well as power system studies. You may also be asked to prepare engineering design packages not directly related to power systems. Responsibilities Work within a project team of engineers and designers in our Telecom, Substation, and Line Design Groups. Assist with substation and overhead lines/underground cable routing layout and configuration design for high, medium, and low voltage projects. Assist with project development, scope, and budget. Attend client design review meetings. Conduct field site inspections and produce field reports. Gain knowledge of power system studies and analysis using engineering software packages such as PLS-CAD, EasyPower, SKM, ETAP, Win-IGS, CDEGS, and PS-CADD. Prepare electrical equipment specifications, electrical installation scope of work documents, and performance specifications. Assist the engineering teams with drafting and CAD updates to drawings. Prepare, review, and complete drawing mark‑ups. Prepare and issue drawing packages. Complete other drafting and computer‑related tasks as called upon by the engineering team. Qualifications Experience with power simulation software and drafting experience in AutoCAD an asset. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Strong verbal communication abilities, good organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to work in a team environment and with minimal supervision. Physical fitness for site visits on potentially uneven ground. Eligibility to work in Canada. Third‑ or fourth‑year Engineering student in Electrical Engineering. As a condition of employment, successful applicants will undergo a background check, including identity verification and a criminal background check.
