Our products improve air quality and conserve natural resources worldwide. Scott Springfield Mfg. Inc. ("SSM") is a tier‑1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions. To support its growth, SSM is looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to the team. Position Description As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support production in two facilities in the Calgary area, collaborating with engineering and production groups to ensure optimal manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and 5S to enhance quality, reliability and costs. Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve products and reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, and by consulting with equipment vendors, engineering and production personnel. Optimize facility layout, machine operations and material handling. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, equipment layout and space requirements. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer’s instructions and procedures. Partner with engineering and production groups to ensure engineering standards are followed and updated. Work with the manufacturing team on root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions for NCRs and CARs and to resolve issues and delays in production. Participate in JHA creation and reviews for new and existing equipment and tasks. Develop time and operation standards for estimating purposes. Assist in driving APQP, 8D problem solving and corrective actions through completion and implementation. Develop and execute a comprehensive planned maintenance program for all current/new production equipment. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering. Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in sheet metal fabrication). Working knowledge of manufacturing/machinery processes and equipment. Lean and Six Sigma knowledge and experience. CAD experience (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD). Strong written and oral communication skills. Solid project management skills. Knowledge of computer or PLC based machine control systems is an asset. Benefits Modine is an equal opportunity employer.
