We are a fast-moving organization that promotes a hands-on approach, supporting each other through the tough spots, generating a close-knit team with a family feel.The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for supporting all accounting functions, maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures while preparing US GAAP compliant financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesPreparing quarterly financial statements and notes which includes consolidated balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and individual subsidiary financial statementsManaging the Company’s financial statement reporting system by editing and maintaining the Company’s chart of accounts and consolidation reportingMonitoring changes in accounting standards and help co-ordinate implementation of new standardsPreparing financial analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accountsAssisting with the annual budget and quarterly forecast processManage Financial Accounting services, including financial statements and reporting, reconciliations, closing balances and tracking of capital projectsComplete financial reports monthlyEnsure quarterly forecast package is complete by the agreed deadlines with follow-up questions addressed by the teamOversee preparation of year-end financial statements and correspond with external auditorsManage the corporate tax and commodity return preparation process to ensure that taxes are being accurately recorded and filed by the regulatory filing deadlinesManage the implementation of new or revised accounting practices and procedures for reportingMonitor processes and procedures for internal controls required to support the delivery of accurate financial resultsAbility to perform ad hoc projects in support of the CFO, including the preparation and tracking of government grants and subsidiesWork as a team with all members of the finance team to deliver executive and board level output on a regular basisOther duties, as assigned by the CFOQualificationsExcellent communication skills, verbal and written with the ability to work with a variety of people in a team environmentStrong analytical skills with an attention to detail to research and escalate issuesStrong computer and reporting skills with an advanced proficiency in MS Excel and WordDetail oriented and team playerProblem-solverA minimum of 5 years professional work experience with a minimum of 2 years leadership experienceStrong working knowledge of financial statement preparation, corporate taxes, budgeting and forecasting, with US GAAP experience being an assetDemonstrated initiative in recognizing efficiencies and implementing process improvement initiativesSolid organizational and time management skillsProven ability to develop and maintain effective relationshipsEducationBachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Management, Commerce or Accounting/FinanceDesignated AccountantSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustriesAviation and Aerospace Component ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Horizon Aircraft by 2xGet notified about new Financial Reporting Manager jobs in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
