Quality Engineer II – TD Securities Work Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Hours: 37.5 Line Of Business: Technology Solutions Pay Details: $76,800 – $115,200 CAD (includes discretionary variable compensation) TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Job Description Perform hands‑on complex testing activities: test design, test creation, and/or process support within a well‑defined functional area to support delivery of quality solutions by designing and automating tests and/or creating and enhancing automation frameworks. Hands‑on role focused on test automation activities with high level of complexity. As a Test Lead for small‑complexity initiatives, accountable for implementing effective test strategies and plans, test design/development, test case automation, and test execution to achieve business outcomes. Provide QE leadership, direction, and feedback throughout the development and design process; provide test development/automation support to ensure quality of intended solution is met. Leverage strong knowledge to understand technical solutions to build optimized test approaches, inclusive of the tooling strategy. Strong knowledge of test data management to reuse automated test data provisioning capabilities. Engineer and leverage tools and engineering practices (DevOps tools and processes, source code management, service virtualization, monitoring tools, etc.). Implement functional and/or non‑functional automation frameworks (performance, readiness / reliability testing (ORT), accessibility, security) including script development, execution, and ensure automated tests are integrated into the CI, delivery, and testing pipelines. Play a key role in developing, documenting, and proactively identifying end‑to‑end test solution designs and early automation opportunities. Work collaboratively with the development team to define and validate user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done (DoD) / Ready (DoR). Apply the principles of behavior‑driven development (BDD) / test‑driven development (TDD) and focus on value‑driven outcomes. Lead proof‑of‑concepts (POCs) to evaluate new technologies geared towards better, faster, more secure testing activities (such as service virtualization, DevOps, BDD, test data management). Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to quality engineering activities. Ensure programs, policies, and practices are well‑managed, meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities. Collaboratively engage with stakeholders at all levels, shift from finding defects to proactively preventing defects. Actively seek and support continuous improvement and automation opportunities within the quality engineering practice. Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using data to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess effectiveness of programs, policies, and practices. Identify opportunities to minimize cost, provide recommendations, and/ or deliver corresponding strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and enhance stakeholder experience. Conduct test asset reviews to ensure adherence to quality, standards compliance, reusability, and ease of maintenance. Monitor service, productivity, and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist. Lead / facilitate and/or implement actions and remediation plans to address performance, risk, and governance issues. Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements. Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalation of non‑standard, high‑risk activities as necessary. Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite. Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues and points of interest. Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for quality engineering best practices and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit. Keep current on emerging trends and developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques. Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross‑training within own team. Keep others informed and up to date about the status/progress of projects and all relevant or useful information related to day‑to‑day activities. Actively mentor and enable team members by sharing knowledge and leveraging engineering best practices. Support the team by providing guidance and proactively identifying and resolving issues. Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships. Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce. Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally. Education and Experience BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience. 3–5 years of relevant experience. Must Have Software testing fundamentals, test management, defect management skills, agile methodology. Technical knowledge. Java, Selenium, Rest Assured, BDD/Cucumber, automation frameworks, CI/CD experience (Jenkins), GIT, SQL (any RDBMS experience). Effective usage of GitHub Copilot, GitHub & GitHub Actions. Experience reviewing automation code. Thought leadership skills – implementing solutions by creating utilities/processes. Experience testing Salesforce applications. Experience developing test plans and release roadmaps on CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Pega, and PeopleSoft. Experience leading teams technically, identifying gaps, and up‑skilling team members as needed. Prior experience in testing Salesforce, nCino, and MuleSoft applications and configurations (asset). Experience in mobile automation frameworks (e.g., Appium) / accessibility automation (asset). Knowledge in AI models that can be used for test automation (asset). Accessibility testing (asset).
