Business Development Consultant Sun Life is looking for a proactive Business Development Consultant to recruit, onboard, coach and develop experienced advisors. You will play a key role in helping advisors grow their holistic financial services practice, including life, health insurance and wealth products. Responsibilities Source new and experienced candidates with established practices for Sun Life advisor roles or to join an advisor team through community contacts and referrals. Maintain regular contact with referral sources, including advisors, centres of influence and community partners. Oversee the successful execution of onboarding plans for new advisors in collaboration with the District team. Participate in recruiting events such as career fairs with the Recruiting Consultant, District Manager and Business Development Partner. Coaching and training advisors to deliver on holistic business results (insurance & wealth sales, client growth, assets). Guide advisors in utilizing head‑office resources, specialized training and processes (e.g., Centre of Excellence teams). Run business assessments to identify opportunities for improving advisor performance and client engagement. Lead adoption of new business processes, manage performance, and align advisors with business targets. Support compliance, market‑conduct audits, and corrective actions as required. Partner with Business Development Partners to develop graduate advisors and identify candidates for associate or alliance opportunities. Achieve key recruiting and production metrics. Qualifications Strong product knowledge of insurance and wealth products with a good understanding of the local market. Proven sales management and business development skills. Excellent mentoring, coaching, performance‑management and influencing skills. Strong communication, relationship building and presentation abilities. Goal‑oriented, forward‑thinking, and able to achieve targets. Experience leading people through large‑scale change in a matrix environment. Business planning and management experience. Knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Sun Life operates. Experience managing a performance‑management process in a sales culture. Nice to Have University degree and minimum 5 years of related experience in the financial services industry. Valid Life Insurance Agent licence in the province of your Financial Centre. Valid Mutual Fund licence. Completed Branch Manager’s Course Examination and satisfy experience required for mutual fund branch manager designation. In good standing with applicable regulators. Eligible for a base salary and variable incentive, including a sales incentive plan with industry‑leading payout opportunities.
