Sessional Lecturer: MUI1080H5 S – Economic Development Planning Join to apply for the Sessional Lecturer: MUI1080H5 S – Economic Development Planning role at University of Toronto – Woodsworth College Posted: 10/22/2025 | Closing: 11/12/2025 | Campus: University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) Position Overview The Institute for Management and Innovation’s Master of Urban Innovation offers a Sessional Lecturer position for the Winter 2026 term to design, teach, and deliver a credit course on economic development planning. The role focuses on applying analytical approaches to regional and community economic development and preparing students to evaluate and explain policy interventions. Responsibilities Design, teach, and deliver the course, including weekly lectures, office hours, marking, and grade submission. Build and maintain the Quercus course shell and work closely with the Program Director on syllabus, content, and assignments. Guide student teams on assignments and support participation in the MUI Case Competition. Record attendance, submit grades, and communicate with students regarding course matters. Qualifications Ph.D. in geography, planning, political science, or a related field preferred; relevant or equivalent industry experience acceptable. Preference for candidates with prior teaching experience in a similar course. Compensation Minimum $9,820.70 (half course) in accordance with CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement (includes 4% vacation pay).
