Health & Safety Specialist (Field Based) Join to apply for the Health & Safety Specialist (Field Based) role at ERM. ERM is hiring a Health & Safety Specialist for project-based assignments at client locations throughout the U.S. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance with applicable regulations and existing company standards, and contributing to an environment where employee health and safety is preserved. You will develop and implement site‑specific Health & Safety plans at a variety of complex project sites. We are building our H&S technical community for upcoming projects across the U.S. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced professionals interested in working on a variety of projects on a contract basis. Typical project assignments will be both short‑term and long‑term in duration. Responsibilities Provide technical assistance on safety‑related compliance projects; safety management system development and implementation; safety oversight, industrial hygiene monitoring; and safety auditing. Develop safety procedures, plans, permits, and reports. Assess regulatory compliance across various safety programs and environmental media. Perform compliance audits and implement follow‑up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Design and implement safety management systems and programs for clients. Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for safety performance improvement projects. Provide on‑site H&S compliance support at client facilities. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related degree. Master’s preferred. 3 to 7 years relevant consulting experience with significant industrial clients on regulatory compliance and sustainable H&S compliance programs. Certification in field; ASP/CSP, CIH, PE, or similar registration highly desirable. Passionate about safety performance improvement and experience with the following H&S topics: LOTO Confined space Hazard recognition Scaffolding Excavation Demonstrated ability to provide detailed regulatory interpretation of federal and state OSHA regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and database management for managing large volumes of data.
