What you’ll be working on Production Management Responsible for overall management and direction of the production process, leading the team in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations and laws. The Production Manager oversees specific departments spanning the production room and the sales floor, ensuring accurate pricing, shop‑able racks, merchandise utilization, seasonal back‑stock, efficient workflow and a productive work pace. Store performance Ensure store performance meets financial targets and key metrics. Monitor and set pace of work. Analyze and act on key metrics, observations and information. Inspect sales floor for shop‑ability and ensure a positive customer/donor experience. Prioritize and direct team member activity. Leadership and Development Lead, direct and supervise supervisors and production team members. Plan staffing needs and coordinate recruitment, selection and training. Observe, assess, interact, coach and counsel supervisors and team members. Identify and develop high‑potential supervisors and team members. Maintain a respectful, values‑driven workplace. Use open communication tools and convert input into meaningful action, address complaints and resolve issues consistently with our values. Fulfill “manager on duty” responsibilities and oversee the store as acting manager when assigned. Customer/Donor Service Receive and respond to customer/donor questions, requests and complaints. Deliver a positive customer/donor experience by setting the example and coaching team members. Actively seek first‑hand feedback to improve shopping and donor experience. Implement sales and marketing promotions & programs when required. Assist donors per company standards. Consistent Production Manage item put‑out condition & volume, production margin, pricing spread and seasonal back stock. Ensure all sellable items are available to the customer. Plan, schedule, assign and direct work of the team to achieve sales, service, production, labor efficiency, and profit objectives. Manage production workflow efficiencies, standards and organization. Oversee quality control checks throughout all production stages. Lead the morning maintenance program to ready the sales floor each morning. Partner with the Community Donation Manager/Retail Sales Manager for OSD flow and process. Ensure accuracy of daily stock‑on‑hand (SOH) and merchandise supply requirements. Leverage the Savers recycling program to reduce landfill. Loss Prevention and Safety Protect company assets and information. Promote loss prevention awareness by upholding procedures and policies. Maintain a safe work environment through education and consistent follow‑up. Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). Oversee certification process for Big Joe, baler and Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO). What you have Excellent presentation skills. Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to observe, assess and coach others. Common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Reasoning, decision‑making and independent judgment. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Minimum required education, training and experience High School diploma; post‑secondary degree or diploma preferred. Results‑driven retail store management or industrial management experience. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Physical requirements Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs; occasional heavier loads up to 250 lbs. Reach in various levels/directions to inspect and handle merchandise. Dexterity for complex hand‑eye tasks, keyboarding, writing, and merchandising inspection. Continued standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting; occasional kneeling. Reading written & electronic documents and product labels. Continuous hearing and verbal communication to interact with management, team members, and customers. Exposure to hazardous machinery, solvents, radiation, dust, and temperature fluctuations. Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays. Safe navigation of large industrial machinery, forklifts, uneven surfaces, and heights. FLSA: Exempt Travel: Will periodically drive to meetings or other stores for business purposes.
