Requisition ID: 242774 Role overview: The Senior Audit Manager leads and oversees the internal audit activities in support of the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Audit Department, ensuring all audit activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Responsibilities Lead and drive a client-focused culture to deepen client relationships, leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Lead and manage end-to-end audits for GTB business, including planning, execution, and reporting. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of GTB products, services and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance GTB processes. Act as Officer in Charge (OIC) for assigned projects; may act as Audit Principal in low to medium complexity assignments. Ensure adherence to Scotiabank standards and the IIA Code of Ethics. Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive audit plan and monitor auditable entities within the cycle. Stay abreast of changes in best practices, regulatory environment, risks, and themes; adapt audit procedures accordingly. Lead planning, execution, and reporting on assigned audit projects; allocate resources and manage timelines. Ensure testing is appropriate to support the audit objective; document and communicate control weaknesses with root cause and timely management action. Present audit results to management and follow up on corrective actions. Write high-quality audit reports and meet department metrics. Conduct moderate to high complexity investigations; document approach and conclusions in writing. Proactively anticipate client pain points to drive innovative recommendations. Lead cross-team collaboration to align on shared objectives. Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in day-to-day activities. Foster a high-performance, inclusive environment; develop and retain talent; manage succession and development. Support continuous monitoring and identify emerging risks within the audit universe. Experience with continuous auditing techniques and data analytics to inform decision-making. Audit projects may involve other countries/regions; vary in complexity and number. Provide trusted advice to business lines, product groups, and risk management. Requirements University/post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent; relevant audit or business certifications. At least 5+ years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing standards and methodologies. Working knowledge of GTB and regulatory environments globally, as required. Ability to execute and supervise multiple projects concurrently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Data analytics mindset with ability to leverage analytics, technology, and innovation. People management and coaching/development skills. Analytical skills; proficiency with data analytics or visualization tools. Curiosity and the ability to challenge the status quo and engage diverse perspectives.
