Senior Mechanical Engineer/Officer

Job Overview Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to join the Mechanical‑Piping & Components Analysis team in Oshawa, Ontario. The role reports to the Manager, Engineering and focuses on stress analysis, design certification and project support in a nuclear power plant environment. Key Accountabilities Perform component and support stress analysis using ABAQUS and/or ANSYS to comply with CSA Standards (N285, N286), OPG Nuclear Standards, ASME PVC and CNSC requirements. Perform piping and feeder stress analysis using AUTOPIPE and ANSYS for dead‑weight, thermal, seismic, waterhammer, dynamic and fatigue evaluation. Prepare, review, verify and accept design reports and certification to CSA N285 and ASME PVC with Appendix XXIII qualifications, including PEO registration. Support multi‑disciplined engineering teams and execute projects in compliance with industry standards. Other duties as required by the Section Manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred. Licensed engineer in Ontario or eligible for licensure. Experience with ASME PVC, Subsections NB, NC, ND, and Section VIII for design analysis. Proficiency in stress analysis of vessels, fuel bundles, or reactor structures. Knowledge of dynamic analysis (vibrations, seismic, fluid‑structure interaction, random excitations). Programming skills in Python, C++, C or Fortran. Familiarity with PEO guidelines and CSA requirements for analytical software. OPG Culture OPG is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
