OverviewSenior Manager, Assurance at Doane Grant Thornton LLP. This role leads and executes a wide range of audits, review engagements and compilations, and provides accounting and advisory solutions to clients.ResponsibilitiesLeading and executing a wide range of large to mid-sized audits, review engagements and compilationsExperience working with owner managed private business clients within a public practice scope; ASPE and ASNPO experience would be assetAnalysis and review of corporate and personal income tax returnsResearch and advisory of complex accounting and auditing mattersProviding solutions to clients for accounting matters and assisting growth in current business and financial conditionsLeading and executing client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectorsContributing to new business development by understanding all Doane Grant Thornton services and by using your credibility in the fieldActing as a leader in the business unit, service line, and firm by contributing to the development and execution of the office business planParticipating in coaching and performance management of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and training to develop junior team membersMaximizing engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resourcesPlanning and leading teams to ensure client expectations are exceededSupervision and mentoring of an accounting team, including file reviewsLeading through coaching and performance management by providing ongoing feedback, conducting timely performance reviews, and delivering training to develop team membersQualificationsCPA designation (or equivalent)At least 8 years accounting-related experience; preference given to public practiceSuperior technical expertise in accounting and auditing; experience with privately held and not-for-profit organizations is an assetCommitment to quality, excellence and ongoing professional growth for yourself and those you manageExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills to earn trust and influence decision-makersStrong management skills in scheduling, organizing, supervising and multi-team managementSelf-motivated, results-oriented multi-tasker who works well independently and collaborativelyStrong interest in coaching and development with a commitment to personal growthAbout Doane Grant ThorntonIf you’re like us, you’re driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking.
