ACH Payments Specialist

Summary The ACH Payments Specialist is responsible for Payment Channel operational functions of back‑office processing, which includes ACH and online banking. The role provides a full range of professional, technical, and general support to customers and the bank, including assisting customers with security settings and overall product usage, addressing routine inquiries, providing step‑by‑step technical instruction via telephone, e‑mail, or in person, and troubleshooting. The specialist will also resolve customer concerns, problems, and discrepancies through account reconciliation, correcting entries, and reversing fees with bank management approval. Apply Job Type: Full‑time Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review fraud monitoring reports and systems to identify suspicious account activity. Monitor external transfer setups for suspicious activity and confirm customer eligibility. Perform and review Debit Card Alerts in Verafin to mitigate fraud and identify trends. Handle ACH Federal Reserve Settlement balancing with FIS reports for receiving and origination. Review transactions on the ACH OFAC report according to established procedures and deadlines. Review ACH Stop Suspect Report and non‑post decisioning for ACH overdraft exceptions. Perform daily ATM settlement and prepare posting sheets for ATM discrepancies reported by branches. Review and process death notifications received through Fedline Web. Review and process government reclamations. Review prenote customers and provide contact center prenote reports for correspondence. Perform ACH disputes and mail ACH stop payments when received. Complete proofs of assigned general ledger accounts according to deadlines; research and resolve outstanding items. Assist with Deposit Operations record retention schedule, monitoring retention, storage, destruction, and documentation. Conduct testing of application changes, product changes, and implementation tasks. Assess and provide feedback on automation and streamlining opportunities within the division. Provide customer service to both internal and external customers. Act as backup to all other teams as needed and ensure cross‑training. Adhere to the bank’s privacy and data security policies, safeguarding sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations. Education and Experience Associate’s degree or 3 years of relevant banking experience. Proven customer service and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access). Familiarity with FIS Contact Center SRM and CMSE. Problem‑solving and analytical skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Detail‑oriented. Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness. Knowledge of general banking regulations. Preferred experience and understanding of ACH rules and regulations; AAP accreditation preferred. Pay Range Disclosure The pay range for this position is $22.30 - $27.00 per hour. This range is the lowest to highest hourly rate Charlesbridge would pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on several factors.
