The program has created more than $51 billion in equity in less than thirteen years targeting companiesthat have the potential to transform our social, industrial, and economic landscape. Its mission is to accelerate the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. CDL is a global program with sites at Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Halifax, Paris, Seattle, Wisconsin, Estonia, Melbourne, Berlin, Texas, Milan and London.The program’s objective-setting process enhances the performance of technical founders who learn from the insights of experienced entrepreneurs, increasing their probability of success. Each stream within each CDL site hosts a series of 4 annual objective-setting sessions that are the primary mechanisms by which the program is delivered. CDL sessions are complex, full-day events that may be hosted virtually or in person and that bring together participating startups, mentors, partners, and business students. At the end of each annual program cycle, CDL hosts an annual event called Super Session that brings together graduating startups as well as mentors, partners, and students from across the CDL network.As the Senior Venture Manager, you will be responsible for leading activities around venture management, communications and resource mobilization. You will oversee and assist the development and implementation of CDL strategies that enhance the brand and reputation of the Rotman School through CDL-Toronto.Your responsibilities will include:Fostering stakeholder engagement and maintaining relationships with project partnersFostering and maintaining relationships with existing and potential sponsorsConducting detailed data analysis to inform management decision makingAnalyzing statistical information to evaluate the performance of programs and/or partnershipsCoordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholdersAnalyzing and documenting successes and adjustments to project implementation activitiesImplementing plans and process improvements for project activitiesServing as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialistsEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree focused on technology, commerce, economics, entrepreneurship, administration, or management; or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experienceMinimum five (5) years recent and related experience in external relations, strategic community development, business development, stakeholder relations, and/or venture management, with a combination of project, program, and product managementSignificant customer service experience is required including confidence working with high performing teams and multiple stakeholders including senior technology executives and angel investorsSignificant experience in event planning and project coordinationDemonstrated work experience in the entrepreneurial ecosystem with startups, technology companies, or venture capital, including a strong understanding of business models and drivers of success in startupsEntrepreneurial and highly motivated with strong interest in startups and venture capitalAbility to handle ambiguity and work effectively in a complex, dynamic, and sophisticated organizationDemonstrated professionalism, tact, and maturity in handling sensitive and confidential information with discretionStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or priorities simultaneously; strong organization and problem-solving skillsExcellent computer skills including GSuite and Microsoft Office applications is requiredAdvanced skills and knowledge of social media and emerging communications technologies (i.e. Slack, Airtable, Salesforce)Assets (Nonessential):Experience in sales; a deep understanding of CRMsTo be successful in this role you will be:CommunicatorGoal orientedMotivated self-learnerProactiveSelf-directedTeam playerNotes:This is a 1-year term.Closing Date: 08/05/2025, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - TermSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 13 -- $86,340. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $110,415.
