Under the direction of the Radiologist, the MRI Technologist (Diagnostic Imaging) performs MRI examinations at a technical level requiring minimal supervision. This position requires independent judgment in performing a wide variety of MRI procedures. In conjunction with the Senior MRI Technologist, and in cooperation with the Clinical Instructor, some instructional duties may be required. New MRI graduates are welcome Responsibilities Perform MRI examinations under Radiologist direction with a level of independence as appropriate to training and experience. Apply independent judgment in selecting imaging protocols and ensuring high-quality results. Co-operate with the Senior MRI Technologist and Clinical Instructor in the practical instruction of students. Maintain equipment, ensure safety protocols, and adhere to departmental policies. Education Satisfactory completion of formal training in an approved C.A.R.M.T. training school or equivalent. Registration with the CMRTO. Successful completion of MRI diploma/degree program. C.A.M.R.T. certification in MRI. Qualifications Technologist in the field of Diagnostic Imaging for not less than one year. Good knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Attendance at recognized courses and conferences in MRI is an asset. Basic computer skills. Experience or current certification in IV injection of contrast media. Ability to use independent judgment and initiative; strong teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to upgrade technical knowledge and skills through post-graduate education. Must be willing to work statutory holidays and maintain a good attendance record.
