Finance Administrator (Co-op)Company: DLS Technology CorporationOffice Location: Ottawa, OntarioWe are looking for a Finance Administrator (Co-op) to join our rapidly growing team.Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, you will manage the day-to-day accounting and finance activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and account reconciliations. You will assist in payroll, financial report preparation, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting.The ideal candidate for this position is organized, has strong time management skills, is detail-oriented, works well in a team, and is a self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment. Accounting & Finance:Maintain posting of day-to-day financial transactions to support performance tracking and decision-making.Post supplier invoices, expense reports, and payments.Track Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payables.Prepare corporate credit card processing, reconciliations, journal entries, and ledger posting.Maintain and reconcile subledger and GL accounts, prepare bank reconciliations, and manage accrued liabilities.Assist in employee payroll preparation and payment.Assist with sales commission report preparation and payment.Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budget reports, sales reports, etc.Prepare for government remittances for payroll, GST/PST, EHT, WSIB, and similar forms.Monitor foreign exchange rate.Track internal subscription renewal and payments.Assist internal purchase request forms process.Assist in preparing government funding program responses and claims.Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company procedures in accounting activities and reporting.Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting operations.Handle other responsibilities and special projects, as required.B. Relationship Management:Assist financial analysis for sales opportunities and prepare DLS quotes for clients.Prepare and submit supplier purchase orders to vendors and distributors.Prepare and submit client invoices and maintain a strong relationship with our clients’ A/P representatives.Contribute and maintain database information for opportunity renewals and closing sales in CRM.REQUIREMENTS:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized college or university.Comprehensive knowledge of and ongoing awareness of accounting principles and government regulations governing business accounting and taxation rules.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Ability to effectively meet multiple deadlines and manage multi-task activities.Proficient problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills (both written & oral) and strong teamwork.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Assets:Prior academic or internship experience in Accounting or Finance is an asset, preferably in small to medium-sized businesses.Experience with financial software tools such as Sage 50, Sage Intacct, or Oracle NetSuite is desirable.Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau is desirable.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSStart Date: January 2025Sector: PrivateOpen positions: 1Location: Ottawa, on-siteJob Type: Full-time (Co-op)Work Term: Min. 8 months work term.Language Requirements: EnglishSecurity Clearance: Reliability Status cleared or eligible for Reliability Status clearance.Who We AreRecognized as one of Canada's Top 500 Growing and Growth 400 companies, DLS Technology Corporation is a leading solutions integrator and service provider with an extensive cybersecurity research and development practice.
