Electrical Engineer

Job Title Electrical Engineer Provide comprehensive support and technical oversight in the engineering and development of low-voltage electrical systems and motor control panels, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate closely with procurement to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of designs, including reviewing specifications, coordinating with suppliers, and integrating procurement considerations into the engineering workflow. Conduct thorough analysis and validation of harmonic distortion levels in motors and variable frequency drives through hands‑on testing, ensuring system efficiency and minimizing electrical interference. Execute modifications and redlining of drawings to reflect design changes, corrections, and improvements, maintaining accurate documentation and version control throughout the project lifecycle. Provide hands‑on support and guidance during wiring and installation phases, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety standards, and design intent. Implement design enhancements aimed at improving product reliability, operational efficiency, and overall quality, incorporating feedback from testing, field performance, and customer input. Lead product testing and quality assurance efforts, including functional verification, stress testing, and compliance checks, to ensure all equipment meets internal and external standards before deployment. Responsibilities Provide technical oversight in engineering and development of low-voltage electrical systems and motor control panels. Execute modifications and maintain accurate documentation of design changes. Provide support and guidance during wiring and installation phases. Implement design enhancements to improve product reliability and efficiency. Lead product testing and quality assurance efforts. Essential Skills Proficiency in electrical engineering, AutoCAD, and schematic design. Experience with low voltage systems and HVAC technologies. Knowledge of harmonic analysis and SCCR calculations. Familiarity with electrical codes / regulations (CSA, UL). Experience with variable frequency drives and motor controls. Skills in Visio, PLC, HMI, and wiring. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with compressors, fans, and pumps. Experience with control system design and PLCs. Knowledge of power electronics relating to high horsepower variable speed drives and three-phase power. PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining backup programming and parameters. Work Environment Work from Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM, with on‑site attendance required in the GTA office and factory. The production floor is ramping up from 5 to 20 technicians, assemblers, and more, offering a dynamic and collaborative production landscape. Facilities are designed for continuous improvement and lean execution, leveraging cutting‑edge tools and methodologies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00 / hr.
