The Opportunity Mawer Investment Management is hiring for the position of trader / analyst within its expanding fixed income group. We look for self‑motivated individuals willing and able to enhance our processes strengthen our culture and help build Mawer into one of the best global investment management firms. Role Responsibilities Work with our head trader to oversee the day‑to‑day trading of the firm’s fixed income assets Primary execution for the Canadian Money Market FX spot / forwards futures Secondary execution of Canadian and global bonds Over time become primary execution for rates strategies / shifts (Federal Provincial Derivatives) Daily portfolio monitoring and adjustment Liaise with our investment operations team to ensure timely settlement of fixed‑income related products Work with the Rates / Macro team to develop interest rate trading strategies (using both macro and market data) Work with Rates / Macro team to develop portfolio construction tools / security level screens (Provincial and Federal securities) Participate in the economic outlook by bringing a market perspective to the discussions Desired Qualifications 4 years of experience in capital markets preferably on the fixed income / derivatives side Bachelors or Masters degree in any discipline Strong technical / programming skills (Python, SQL, AI tools) considered an asset Knowledge of electronic trading platforms: Bloomberg, CanDeal, MarketAccess is considered an asset Strong work ethic and a demonstrated track record of excellence and commitment to achieve meaningful results Why Mawer Directly contribute to the firm’s growth as a global independent investment manager.
