OverviewSenior Actuarial Consultant - Auto Pricing role at Co-operators. Department: Home & Auto Pricing. Employment Type: Regular Full-Time. Work Model: Hybrid. This role is currently vacant.ResponsibilitiesLead auto pricing initiatives and collaborate with business partners to understand their needs.Lead complex projects to deliver unique solutions to ensure the profitability of the auto portfolio.Develop rate change projects (rate level or segmentation) and various advanced analytical models aligned with corporate strategies.Prepare rate filings and negotiate with regulators to support proposed changes.Work efficiently with advanced modeling software, various data sources and programming languages to contribute to strategic objectives.Analyze the needs of business partners, research multiple data sources and identify actuarial requirements to design innovative solutions for complex challenges.Build and implement detailed project plans, perform peer reviews and provide direction and expertise to team members to facilitate their development.Coach and mentor team members to facilitate their development and foster a collaborative, innovative team environment.What you will succeed atInnovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.Strong critical thinking to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.Excellent communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.Build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.QualificationsPost-secondary degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the property and casualty actuarial field.Advanced knowledge of modeling software and programming languages (SQL, SAS, R and/or Python).Strong knowledge of P&C insurance products, emerging trends and best practices in the actuarial landscape.Having or working towards the CAS or CIA fellow or associate designations is an asset.This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English.
