Our continued growth is driven by innovation, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to our customers and partners worldwide. The Role Agrocrop is looking for an experienced Controller. Reporting to the President and working directly with the Accounting Manager. The Controller will be a business partner managing financial control and accounting activities including general and cost accounting, payables/receivables, and payroll whilst ensuring financial control processes and systems comply with company policies and applicable regulations. The Controller will mentor and support the Accounting and Finance team. The Controller will monitor financial operations results against operating plans and directs the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control activities and costs. Leads the financial and capital budgeting process. Recommends and implements programs to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs. Provides strategic input into company growth. Key Priorities Manages all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition Manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for accurate accounting of consolidated business results Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Assesses current accounting operations, offers recommendations for improvement, implements new processes, and evaluates accounting and internal controls systems Manages and directs the preparation of the budget and financial statements, forecasts and report variances Prepares and publishes timely monthly financial statements Coordinates the preparation of regulatory reporting with external auditors Supports month-end and year-end close processes Supports managers in preparing departmental budgets and reports actual vs budget variance on a monthly basis Manages and complies with GAAP, provincial government reporting requirements and tax filings Liaise with financial institutions if required Key Leadership Profile / Competencies Lead by example with an approach to empower everyone in the team Set key performance standards for the finance team Track record of building teams Ability to get things done through others Coach, develop, and mentor Critical Thinking (Strategy) Operate at the highest level to support strategy development Ability to think objectively and weigh different options to dive deep where needed on relevant issues Sound conceptual and strategic awareness/capabilities Sound business acumen and solid operational skills Influencing and Collaboration Builds strong relationships to work collaboratively as a team Unafraid to challenge assumptions, demonstrate conviction Approaches things with an open mind and adapts to various situations and challenges Ability to communicate information clearly Results Orientation Instills and embraces a culture of accountability Roll up the sleeve’s acumen with a bias for action Ability to make decisions and take others with them while doing so Analytically savvy Qualifications 5 – 7+ years’ proven working experience as a Financial Controller Must hold a CPA Certification Manufacturing experience is an asset Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Experience with creating financial statements Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process Excellent accounting software user and administration skills Proficiency in MS Suite Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment Strong communication skills: ability to communicate information clearly Ability to work collaboratively as a team Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Attention to detail, fast learner, and quick thinker Paid time off Dental care Life insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Company events On-site parking Agrocrop Exports Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
