Senior Consultant, Indigenous Cultural Safety - Shkaabe Makwa – CAMH Shkaabe Makwa at CAMH is an Indigenous‑led, hospital‑based Centre that improves the health and well‑being of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis across Ontario through holistic mental health and wellness care grounded in traditional healing. The Senior Consultant will support organizational transformation and systems initiatives to advance Indigenous cultural safety. Primary Responsibilities Lead strategic implementation of CAMH’s Truth and Reconciliation Plan and Indigenous cultural safety initiatives across the organization, using systems thinking, human‑centered design, and equity‑focused approaches. Collaborate with the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy program to develop and implement the OSP Indigenous Approach, ensuring culturally safe services for Indigenous peoples in Ontario. Support strategic planning through stakeholder engagement, environmental scanning, facilitation, work‑plan development, and evaluation. Build organizational capacity for strategic change and partnership development, creating tools, resources, and coaching models that promote cultural safety and reconciliation. Apply foresight and innovation practices to anticipate future challenges and position Shkaabe Makwa and the OSP Indigenous Approach for long‑term success. Contribute to Shkaabe Makwa’s partnership strategy, including development, maintenance, and evaluation of key partnerships. Collaborate across portfolios, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and facilitate meaningful engagement processes. Job Requirements Registered as First Nations, Inuit or Métis with demonstrated community connections. University degree in health sciences, public health, health policy/administration, business administration, design, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred. 3–5 years of experience in consulting, strategy, or healthcare settings; mental health and addictions experience is an asset. Demonstrated experience in systems thinking, human‑centered design, partnership‑building, and strategic implementation. Strong facilitation, coaching, communication, and writing skills, with ability to engage diverse stakeholders and drive organizational change. Ability to synthesize insights and present ideas persuasively. Proven project management experience, data analysis, and development of practical, creative solutions. Experience applying equity‑driven and anti‑oppressive approaches and embedding them into strategic processes. Thorough understanding of principles and practices of Indigenous engagement. Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, cultures, perspectives, and health service providers.
