More role details below: Senior Mechanical Engineer Role type: Full-Time Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (occasional overtime required) Travel: Approximately 10% travel to customer sites in the U.S. and Mexico Summary: Role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for designing mechanical systems tailored to customer requirements. You will produce detailed technical documentation for our Manufacturing team, ensuring project designs are flawlessly executed. Key Responsibilities: Review comprehensive project specifications including requirements and deadlines. Design mechanical systems using SolidWorks, aligning with customer needs. Prepare technical documents for design reviews and participate in client meetings. Create detailed drawings utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Generate bill of materials (BOM) using MiniMRP software. Source quotes from suppliers and process purchase orders for required parts. Support troubleshooting efforts for Manufacturing and Field Service technicians. Communicate project status via Asana and email. Ensure Manufacturing team receives all necessary project documentation (drawings, cutlist, P&G, etc.). Verify receipt and organization of all ordered components. Document spare parts lists for inventory management and future reference. Conduct quality checks on received machined parts and validate compliance. Perform final BOM and model verification against actual build prior to shipping. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering. Prior 7-10 years of hands‑on experience in Mechanical Engineering. Experience designing automated equipment, preferably in the automotive industry. Expertise in CAD software: SolidWorks (other software like AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor would be an asset) Proven experience with GD&T. Strong grasp of engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (OSHA, ISO 12100). Knowledge of ergonomics and human factors. Experience in designing, assembling, and testing mechanical systems. Skilled in both on‑site and remote mechanical troubleshooting. Collaborative approach, comfortable working in cross‑functional teams (engineering, electrical, manufacturing). Valid passport and ability to travel internationally (U.S., Mexico). Nice to have: Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively working toward licensure. Certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
