Who we need Reporting to the Director, Procurement, we are hiring a Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Manager to support Yorkville University’s procurement strategy through proactive supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and market research. As the new Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Manager, you will identify and evaluate new vendors, lead negotiations for both new contracts and renewals, and analyze market trends to ensure Yorkville secures optimal value, quality, and service. You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring that all sourcing activities align with institutional goals, policies, and sustainability standards. This is a full‑time role, currently following a hybrid model working both on‑site at our downtown Toronto office and remotely. Key Responsibilities Lead the end‑to‑end sourcing process – identifying business needs, managing competitive solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFSQs), vendor outreach, evaluation, and selection. Negotiate contracts – develop clear scopes of work, performance standards, and pricing structures, ensuring agreements are fair, transparent, and risk‑mitigated. Research – conduct market sounding, supplier benchmarking, and spend analysis to identify new opportunities and emerging trends. Collaborate – work closely with stakeholders across academic and administrative functions, providing sourcing guidance and communicating outcomes. Implement – support rollout of new procurement tools and systems, including supply chain modules and contract lifecycle management tools, and develop templates, procedures, and best practices. Build – strengthen the procurement framework, cultivate supplier relationships, support diversity and sustainability initiatives, and drive continuous improvement. Skills & Qualifications Experience in procurement and strategic sourcing within a complex organization, including development and management of competitive solicitations. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field; professional certification such as SCMP or CPSM is an asset. Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with ability to evaluate bids, analyze spend data, and assess vendor performance. Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels. Proactive, organized, detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Proficient with procurement and data analysis tools, comfortable using Microsoft Office, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems. Why work at Yorkville University?
