OverviewCity of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative, and energetic Visual Arts Instructors to teach our recreational arts programs for children, youth and adults. This role is for teaching drawing, painting, mixed media, anime, sculpting, textiles and/or photography. Classes are offered weekdays after school and weekends. Visual arts themed birthday parties are also offered.Location: Recreation/Facilities – Delta, British Columbia, Canada. Employment group: CUPE Local 454. Hours of Work: Auxiliary/Casual. Job ID: 25-255 EX. Salary: $31.00 per hour + 12% in lieu of vacation, public holidays, and benefits. Employment type: Part-time.ResponsibilitiesTeach visual arts courses in drawing, painting, mixed media art, anime, textiles, sculpting, and related topics.Plan lessons for 8-10 weeks of classes and deliver quality, engaging instruction to children, youth and adults.Lead art-themed birthday parties as part of program offerings.Work independently to manage classes and student progress while delivering strong customer service.Availability to work 2-4 hour shifts in Tsawwassen, Ladner, and/or North Delta; able to work evenings and weekends.QualificationsExperience teaching drawing, painting, mixed media art, anime, textiles, sculpture.Formal training is an asset but not required; a love of art and the ability to transfer that to students is essential.Ability to plan lessons and deliver engaging classes; strong customer service skills.Able to work independently and meet class objectives.Willing to submit relevant professional certificates, degrees, or tickets with the application; Police Information Check preferred.Additional InformationLocation: Recreation/Facilities – Delta, BCHours of Work: Auxiliary/CasualJob ID: 25-255 EXSalary: $31.00 per hour + 12% in lieu of vacation, public holidays, and benefitsBloodline of opportunities: We encourage diverse applicants and are an equal opportunity employer.We thank all applicants for their interest; only those under consideration will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
