Power BI Developer at Affinity On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Power BI Developer to lead the transition from legacy reporting tools (QlikSense and Cognos) to Power BI. This role is central to delivering high-impact dashboards, driving data quality initiatives, and supporting enterprise-wide adoption of Power BI. Responsibilities Design and deliver Power BI dashboards and reports to replace existing outputs, with a focus on internal performance metrics and data quality. Participate in monthly release cycles, including initial PDF-based report distribution and future rollout of interactive dashboards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the Power BI environment is stable, secure, and optimized for performance. Develop user-facing documentation such as how-to guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting resources. Support user training, access management, and adoption of Power BI tools in coordination with change management efforts. Contribute to data quality initiatives, including backlog reduction and address validation. Help establish reporting standards and best practices to guide broader adoption of Power BI across departments. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports in a large enterprise setting. Proficient in data modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), and performance optimization techniques. Experience with other BI/reporting platforms such as QlikSense or Cognos is considered an asset. Strong understanding of data quality principles and practices. Comfortable working in Agile environments and collaborating across technical and business teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear user documentation and training materials.
