Position: Inventory Control and Procurement Manager (1 Year Acting Role) Job Overview The Manager, Inventory Control and Procurement is responsible for inventory management, including the movement, processes, and controls necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency. This role is also responsible for item data maintenance, billing, and warehouse controls. As a key leader within the Central Production team, this role drives operational excellence by managing a diverse team, ensuring cross‑training, and fostering succession planning within core functions. The incumbent will collaborate with key business partners to establish effective processes and planning, supporting annual business objectives and results. Accountabilities Production Facility Product Receiving Confirms receipt of all ingredients and supplies and validates price against contract. Processes all related documentation. Manages, analyzes and administers the daily production reports to ensure enough inventory is available for production. Enters inventory into system to maintain an accurate database of product. Reports product shortages or overages to Production Manager to allow for planning to avoid disruption of production. Leadership and People Management Demonstrates Genuine Merchant Leadership and People Management by: Hiring, motivating and developing team members and by providing regular feedback and completing on‑time performance appraisals. Ensures that team members understand and comply with company standards, policies and procedures including health and safety, loss prevention, food safety and human resource policies. Mentor Managers on production standards and organizes work to improve value added contributions, problem‑solving techniques and eliminate wasteful activities. Leads with Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement mindset. Adherence to Food Safety and QA Standards Checks for product quality and reports unacceptable product to appropriate internal colleagues. Ensures proper and safe storage of products, including temperature checks and adherence to food safety standards. Assesses incoming product quality and reports possible issues to Quality Assurance Specialist. Supply Chain Work closely with Inventory & Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to optimize production, inventory turns, and ingredient/supply use. Authorizes use and selection of ingredients to support production and product development requirements. Responsible for long‑range supply planning in support of production and food trends. Collaborates with the team in forecasting for limited time offer, promotions and/or seasonal event production. Completes product consumption models and predictors to assist with production and budget formulation. Follows up to ensure accurate kit costs are in the system and that yield analysis is scheduled and completed to validate weight and spec. Leads Inventory/ data team and oversees the preparation and production of food while meeting quality and production standards. Health and Safety Promotes and endorses Safety Vision “Safety is our way of life”. Observes and supports Longo’s Safe Work guidelines and other safe work practices. Role models the importance of health and safety by always working safely and calls out and addresses safety issues. Recognizes risks which may pose a danger to Team Members and resolves such issues (where possible) or modifies work, mitigating the risk to Team Member/customer until resolution can be sourced and implemented. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience required in large‑scale food production facility. Thorough understanding and experience in processes required to support production, inventory controls, Manufacturing ERP/Principles. Attention to detail in areas of production ingredient planning, costing, yield analysis, item comparisons etc. Food Handlers Certification and strong knowledge of food safety practices preferred. Knowledge of best food production plant operation such as HCAAP, GS1, temperature control. Able to prioritize numerous projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Strong initiative, excellent work ethic and sense of urgency. Strong sense of ownership, drive and enthusiasm. Strong communication skills. Intermediate/ Manufacturing and Inventory control skills. Attention to detail and task oriented. Strong organizational, tactical and planning skills needed to organize daily records and routines. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team. Working Conditions Ability to work in a cold environment (at approximately zero degrees Celsius). No closing responsibilities are required for this role. Rotating weekends off may apply, based on operational needs. Flexibility to support the needs of the operation as required.
