Responsibilities We are seeking two Research Associates to join our research team on a study examining brain development and maternal health in pregnancies affected by diabetes. The project involves magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and clinical data collection from pregnant participants. The Research Associates will identify and approach eligible pregnant patients for participation in the study, conduct initial screening to confirm study eligibility in collaboration with the clinical and research teams, obtain informed consent, and ensure participants’ understanding of study procedures. The incumbents will coordinate participant scheduling for MRI scans and follow‑up assessments, collect and record relevant clinical data (e.g., maternal health, obstetric, and metabolic measures) in accordance with study protocols, and support safety monitoring during study procedures, including MRI sessions. They will maintain accurate research documentation, comply with all ethics and privacy requirements, communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, MRI technologists, research coordinators), and assist in data quality control and reporting as needed. Qualifications Education: Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Experience: 2 years' nursing experience Experience in research or clinical trial coordination is an asset Skills, Abilities & Expertise: Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in accordance with institutional guidelines Ability to provide solutions and ideas for improvement by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to adhere to legislated safety requirements and Western safety policies Commitment to ongoing professional development with a desire to take on new challenges Ability to multi‑task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment Ability to work in a fluid and evolving work environment with changing deadlines and priorities Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems Why Western?
