Job DescriptionPosted Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 5:00 a.m.Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Project Management Manager, the Structural Application Engineer handles highly complex technical requests related to large-scale projects. This individual is involved throughout the life cycle of the project and acts as a technical expert. Responsibilities include validating installation compliance and sealing drawings under their supervision. The role also involves developing custom tools, performing engineering calculations, and contributing to technical training content.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign functional architectural assembly details that comply with building code requirementsDesign structural rooms/enclosures that meet various client-imposed design constraintsSeal plans to ensure structural and functional compliance of Norbec productsParticipate in test bench setups and prototype assemblyContribute to early-stage innovation effortsEnsure all developed solutions and products comply with applicable building codes (CNBC / IBC)Maintain up-to-date knowledge relevant to the role and fieldConduct technical and strategic technology watchAnswer technical questions using available engineering toolsDevelop calculation tools to accelerate technical support request handlingCreate training materials to support knowledge sharing and continuity across the organizationDeliver technical product and application training sessionsDevelop technical content and documentationConduct installation site inspections and report findings in collaboration with the sales teamEnsure occupant safety in all developed solutions/productsEnsure product performance is aligned with company valuesPrepare thermal simulationsCoordinate the development and sealing of plans with external engineering firms (in other provinces and U.S. states)Education and Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalentMinimum 5 years of relevant technical experienceExperience in the construction industryTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of plan and specification readingProficiency in AutoCADProficiency in Microsoft Office suiteFamiliarity with Jira, SharePoint, and Epicor (assets)Advanced bilingualism (French and English)ProfileGoal-oriented and results-drivenRigorous and well-organizedStrong analytical and synthesis skillsTeam player with strong collaboration skillsInnovative and proactiveCustomer-focusedHigh level of initiative and autonomyAdditional Information1-day business travel: 6–9 times/year2–3-day business travel: approximately 6 times/year #J-18808-Ljbffr
