Operating in over 200 locations across North America, Levy leverages unbridled creativity, custom strategies, impeccable service, and true love for great food to create unforgettable experiences at arenas, convention centres, entertainment venues and more.From suites and concessions, to high-profile events, we are passionate about delivering the most memorable food and beverage experiences for our partners and guests.Job SummaryNow, if you were to come on board as ourCatering Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:Lead and support the Operations team on day of eventsWork collaboratively on menu planning with clients and Executive Chef, and identify revenue generating opportunitiesAssist in production, hiring, employee training, staff scheduling, associate supervising, as well as addressing and resolving employee relations issuesDevelop team and provide performance improvement programsFull cycle sales including but not limited to qualifying leads, site visits, negotiating contractsMeet and greet clients, schedule and conduct tastings, promote our services and answers client inquiriesPrepare quotes, contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to corporate and social eventsReply to emails regarding bookings in a timely mannerConsult with clients to discover creative solutions to recognize their vision and objective for each eventSchedule and coordinate meetings and appointments with clientsWork with customer throughout the contract process and be available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangementsDevelop leads, secure re-bookings and assist with promotion effortsActively participate in weekly revenue meeting as well as prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reportsRecognize opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding eventsEffectively manage client relationships and multitask in a fast paced, high volume environmentParticipate in the development of marketing materials such as quarterly newsletters and social media content as well as attend relevant trade shows and industry events to promote the venueDevelop and maintain complete knowledge of the operations, policies and procedures for Gourmet CuisineAccess and input data into a computer system to generate account history reportsCreate and maintain sales department files in an orderly manner, and ensure and maintain confidentially of all sensitive communication and materialsDevelop relationships with meeting and event planners and follow up to ensure they are informed of new promotionsDevelop relationships with funeral homes to promote memorial businessParticipate in reviewing competitors’ pricing, websites, etc.Actively participate in training, regional initiatives and meetings as requiredThink you have what it takes to be our Catering Manager? Here’s how we’ll know you will be successful:Minimum 2 years of experience in a Catering Sales Manager role for a Catering Company, venue or hotelHigh school diploma, college or university degree or relevant work experience preferredStrong organizational and time management skills and able to work with minimal supervisionProven decision making, analytical and problem solving skillsPositive attitude, flexible and motivated to be successfulDependable, self-disciplined and team oriented with strong attention to detail and initiativeExcellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skillsProficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn new softwareKnowledge of catering software an assetExceptional customer relationship management skillsFlexible to work evening and weekends as business needs requireCompass Group Canada is committed to nurturing a diverse workforce representative of the communities within which we operate.
