OverviewSenior Roadway Engineer / Project Manager – Markham, ONJoin EXP to design and lead transportation planning and roadway projects as a Senior Roadway Engineer / Project Manager within the Transportation team in Markham, Ontario. EXP is an employee-owned firm focused on innovative solutions for built and natural environments, with a diverse team of engineers, architects, designers, scientists and professionals.What You Will DoDevelop and supervise a team that handles transportation detailed design and planning projectsPrepare preliminary design reports (PDR), design criteria, and preliminary and detailed designs for arterial regional roads, collector roads, and municipal local roads (new and rehabilitation/modifications)Prepare preliminary designs for CADD staff and review drawings for compliance with applicable industry and client standardsPrepare Contract Specifications, Tender Documents, and Applications for Agency ApprovalsReview and issue finalized Shop DrawingsCoordinate and mentor junior staff within the municipal group Liaise with Clients, Sub-consultants, Contractors and construction supervision staffAssist with the preparation of proposals for potential projectsLead or support Environmental Assessment for municipal transportation projectsAct as a Project Manager for Transportation tasks and projectsMaintain client communications; prepare technical reports and presentationsCoordinate internal resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and with quality controlOversee the assessments and preparation of reports and drawings by staffAttend public/private meetings and make presentations as a representative of EXP and/or our clientsAssist in business development activities to grow our groupAssist in hiring and directly oversee and mentor more junior team membersDevelop and implement internal training, standard practices and QA/QC methodologiesContribute positively to EXP culture and environmentWhat Your Experience Looks LikeDegree in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of related experience, preferably with Ontario Municipal Road and Provincial authoritiesP.Eng. designation with PEO is requiredExperience in supervision, budget management, report preparation, and client relationship managementProficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D; experience with earlier versions of MicroStation and InRoads will be consideredStrong computer software skills with ProjectWise, Word, Excel & MS ProjectKnowledge of MTO and Metrolinx standards, including municipal and regional design/drafting standardsSkilled in cost estimating, quantity preparation and specification writingIndependent, organized and motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deliver projects under stringent schedules in a fast-paced environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills, including advanced technical writing abilitiesAttention to detail and accuracy; strong interpersonal skills focused on meeting customer requirementsAbout EXPEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
