Phlebotomist / Laboratory Specialist – Centricity Research Join us at Centricity Research, one of the largest clinical research networks in North America, specializing in Phase I‑IV trials across over 35 therapeutic areas. We are seeking a Casual/PRN Phlebotomist / Laboratory Specialist to perform routine laboratory sample collection, processing, and shipping for clinical research studies. This role also supports data management, research administrative tasks, and recruitment initiatives. Responsibilities Collect, process, and ship specimens per study protocols, lab manuals, and SOPs. Perform phlebotomy, blood glucose testing, ECGs, vitals, and other clinical procedures. Perform PBMC collection, isolation, cryopreservation, and maintain associated supplies and documentation. Maintain laboratory equipment, perform calibration and maintenance, and respond to temperature excursions. Assist with CRF data entry, investigational product accountability, database queries, and study document management. Support recruitment initiatives and maintain organized clinical and lab spaces. Assist research management and investigators with other study tasks as needed. Qualifications Experience performing phlebotomy, ECGs, vitals, PBMC collection, and other point‑of‑care testing. Understanding of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and regulatory requirements – or eagerness to learn quickly. Completion of Laboratory Technician or Assistant program (Canada) or High School Diploma / GED (US); certifications such as OSMT, CSMLS, MLT, or Medical Laboratory Technician are a plus. Prior experience in clinical research (Phase I‑IV) or healthcare/lab environments. Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Professional communication skills and effective collaboration with participants, staff, and external partners. Attention to accurate documentation, logs, and regulatory records. Minimum Education / Experience Canada: Completion of a Laboratory Technician or Assistant program at a recognized College or University and a minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferably in a clinical research setting. US: HS / GED. Preferred OSMT, CSMLS certified or equivalent, MLT diploma or certification. Phase I‑IV Clinical Research experience considered a strong asset. US: Medical Laboratory Technician and experience performing nasal swabs. Core Competencies / Skills Excellent communication skills (verbal & written). Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook). Attention to detail, efficient time management, self‑directed, teamwork & collaboration. Proficient in ICH GCP, FDA & HC Division 5 guidelines. Strong organizational, planning, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Physical Demands Prolonged sitting, light lifting, standing, reaching, walking, and bending. May be required to lift light boxes (10–20 lbs). Working Conditions Modern medical office environment. Compliance with OHSA, OSHA, PHIPA, HIPAA, PIDEDA guidelines.
