Position Overview We’re looking for a Construction Estimator to take ownership of our estimating and pre‑construction process, including both negotiated projects and public bids/tenders. You’ll review drawings and specifications, coordinate with trades and suppliers, and prepare accurate, competitive estimates that set projects up for success. This is a technical estimating role, ideal for someone who enjoys pricing, detail, and coordination in the construction industry. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for projects ranging from $25K–$1M. Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and site conditions to define scope. Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes. Prepare and submit public tenders and bid packages, ensuring compliance with submission requirements. Track bid opportunities, manage timelines, and maintain organized records. Prepare clear, professional client proposals for negotiated projects. Maintain and update pricing databases and sub‑trade contact lists. Support project setup and documentation for awarded jobs. Qualifications 5+ years of estimating or project coordination experience (residential and commercial). Familiar with public tendering, RFPs, and bid submissions. Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and Ontario Building Code. Proficient in Excel, Bluebeam, JobTread and other estimating/project management software. Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills. Able to manage multiple active bids and meet deadlines. Valid G driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for site visits.
