Nanaimo Forest Products (NFP) Ltd., the owner of the Harmac Pacific trademark, restarted the mill with a single production line on October 3, 2008. Since that time the mill has grown to two production lines and a capacity of 400,000 tonnes of world‑class pulp per year. Key to Harmac’s success is the employee ownership model. Our employees are very active participants in the running of the business and have two members that they appoint to the company’s six seats on its Board of Directors. The future of Harmac Pacific Pulp is looking bright. Through extensive capital investments, the organization has made significant improvements to productivity and reliability. In addition, as of 2013, the 25 MW Green Energy turbogenerator was installed and is used to sell power to BC Hydro. Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Steam Plant Shift Engineer to join our team at Harmac Pacific Pulp Mill. Under the direction of the Area Supervisor, you will support operations by supervising the shift operating crews that run the plant’s Recovery and Power boilers, Power Generation Turbines, and Effluent Treatment plant. Qualifications 2nd Class Power Engineering certificate of qualification. Strong background working in heavy industry. Well‑developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated track record of building a cooperative work environment. Ability to manage change in the workplace. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
