Corporate-Commercial Senior Counsel (10–15 Years Experience) – Aboriginal Law FocusJob OverviewAbout the RoleWe are hiring an experienced Corporate-Commercial Senior Counsel with 10–15 years of experience to lead complex legal matters for Indigenous governments, development corporations, and joint ventures. This is a leadership-track position offering meaningful engagement with Indigenous governance. Although Maurice Law is seeking a candidate in Calgary, Maurice Law will consider applicants from other locations.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic legal advice on sophisticated commercial transactions involving Indigenous clientsAdvise on the creation and governance of development corporations and trust structuresLead negotiations for impact benefit agreements, procurement contracts, and equity partnerships in resource developmentMentor junior associates and contribute to business development initiativesRequirements:10–15 years of legal experience, with a focus on corporate-commercial lawBackground in Aboriginal law, including Indigenous governance and economic developmentProven ability to manage complex files with minimal supervisionExperience leading client relationships and mentoring junior lawyersSuperior organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently as well as the desire to be in a team environmentFlexible and adaptable to constantly changing needs within the firmGood standing with Law Society of AlbertaPractice Area: Corporate-Commercial, Aboriginal Law #J-18808-Ljbffr
