Remote Freelance Interpreter (English/Akan)Join MCIS Language Solutions as a Remote Freelance Interpreter (English/Akan).MCIS Language Solutions provided pay range: CA$20.00/hr - CA$25.00/hrPosition OverviewAs a freelance interpreter with MCIS Language Solutions, you will provide essential spoken interpretation services in various community settings, such as hospitals, police stations, tribunal hearings, schools, and more. Your primary role will be to facilitate clear and accurate communication between English and Akan speakers.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpretation: Provide accurate, clear, and professional interpretation between English and Akan in community settings.Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural awareness when working with diverse communities.Reading and Oral Translation: Read and orally translate written materials as needed.Facilitating Access to Services: Support vulnerable populations by breaking down linguistic barriers.Travel: Travel to assignment locations as required.Remote Assignments: Handle over-the-phone or video interpretation assignments.Professionalism and Confidentiality: Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while interpreting sensitive information.RequirementsFluency in English and Akan (both written and spoken) is required.Reading Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret written documents accurately.Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and a commitment to service.Transportation: Ability to travel to different locations as needed.Legal Eligibility: Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Training And SupportTraining: MCIS provides a free online training module designed to prepare you for assignments.Experienced Interpreters: We welcome applications from experienced interpreters who have been tested and certified in community interpreting.MCIS Language Solutions is committed to creating opportunities for interpreters to have a meaningful impact by helping bridge the language gap in communities across Canada. #J-18808-Ljbffr
