Job Overview The Maintenance Planner, based in Eastern Canada and reporting to the Manager, Site Services, is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities for Horizon North camps, facilities, and field assets. The role enhances productivity and work quality through effective planning of personnel, materials, equipment, and contractor services. Responsibilities Facilitate and administer day‑to‑day maintenance planning activities, receiving work requests and determining appropriate personnel or contractor involvement. Assign priority to work orders through stakeholder input, creating maintenance schedules. Coordinate labor, equipment, parts, and materials for breakdown, preventative, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance. Advise management on work status and potential operational issues to ensure needed resources are available. Collaborate with Area Maintenance Superintendents, Camp Managers, and maintenance personnel to set preventive maintenance levels. Identify assets for preventive maintenance using the CMMS, creating work orders and scheduling due dates. Analyze completed maintenance data to refine the asset inspection plan for the following year. Perform cost analysis on preventive maintenance to support budgeting. Resolve scheduling conflicts promptly to meet deadlines. Assist supervisors in assessing progress and adjusting schedules. Stabilize schedules to promote operational efficiency. Continuously improve tasks using feedback from execution processes. Implement planning system and process improvements. Produce CMMS reports on maintenance KPIs as required. Support supervisors with third‑party quotes, estimates, and billing information. Qualifications Post‑secondary diploma or degree, Journeyman tradesperson, or a combination of relevant work experience. Industry knowledge and familiarity with camp facilities and equipment. Proficient in at least one CMMS (e.g., Maintenance Connection or Maximo) and database applications. Proficiency with MS Office programs. Ability to lead meetings. Strong planning, prioritization, and execution skills. Excellent problem identification and resolution skills. Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel.
