Millwright - Maintenance Technician

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring Millwright/Maintenance Technicians for an upcoming 2-4 month assignment in Southwestern Ontario.

You will earn:

  • $33.88-$35.13 per hour
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs associated with various machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Install, repair, and maintain machinery equipment and the facility.
  3. Write and install custom PLC coding.
  4. Troubleshoot and modify PLC and HMI applications of automated process equipment.
  5. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
  6. Use and interpret schematics and blueprints related to plant equipment.
  7. Practice and maintain standard operating procedures and remain compliant with all quality, safety, production, and environmental rules, standards, and regulations.
  8. Maintain accurate up-to-date maintenance database records.
  9. Demonstrated working knowledge of lockout-tagout and confined space entry.
  10. Experience with rigging of equipment, set-up, and alignment of machinery and equipment.
  11. Review work assignments and job procedures to ensure safe and reliable work execution.
  12. Maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certifications (preferred).
  • Millwright certification or apprenticeship (preferred).
  • PLC technical certification with at least 2 years’ experience as a PLC programmer (preferred).
  • Minimum 1-year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills.
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal).
