Overview Brightisle is a leading provider of health and community care services in Newfoundland and Labrador, with over 25 years of experience and more than 1,000 employees. This role helps families stay connected and ensures the well‑being and safety of children and youth in foster care. Responsibilities Supervise and facilitate visitations between children/youth in foster care and their families in a safe environment. Observe and assess the safety and suitability of the visitation setting. Monitor family dynamics and behaviors during each visit. Prepare detailed, confidential reports that inform reunification decisions and are often used in court. Coordinate schedules to fit children’s and families’ availability, including shifting work hours (days, evenings, weekends). Minimum 3 hours per shift; no overnight or 24‑hour shifts. If required, arrange and accommodate transportation for visits. Write reports promptly; receive compensation for report writing time. Receive training and on‑call support during all visitation times. Qualifications Experience in a related field working with children and youth. Valid Record of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check. First Aid Certificate. Medical Certificate indicating good health (negative TB test, up-to-date immunization record). Strong interpersonal, written communication, decision‑making, and observational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all client information. Flexibility to work short shifts at various times; commitment to coordinating schedules. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $19.45 per hour, as per the collective agreement. This is a unionised position with the NL Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE).
