Enterprise Architect

Job Description On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for an Enterprise Architect to be responsible for defining, maintaining, and communicating the organization’s enterprise architecture vision, principles, and standards. The scope includes the assessment, design, and governance of technology and business solutions across business domains to ensure alignment with enterprise goals and IT strategy. Responsibilities Development and maintenance of enterprise architecture frameworks and roadmaps. Development and maintenance of business architecture artifacts. Alignment of business strategy with IT capabilities and investments. Oversight of solution, data, application, and technology architectures. Governance of technology standards, integration patterns, and architecture principles. Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure architectural compliance, quality, and scalability. Define and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap in alignment with business objectives. Partner with executive leadership to translate business vision into technology initiatives. Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to guide long-term strategic planning. Develop and maintain architectural blueprints across business, data, application, and technology domains. Produce and maintain architecture artifacts, models, and documentation. Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and reference models. Assess and recommend major solution designs for alignment with enterprise architecture. Develop and track Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB) performance metrics supporting continuous improvement of the project-facing EARB service. Report on architectural maturity, compliance, and roadmap progress to executive stakeholders. Provide guidance to solution architects, developers, and project teams, leading and supporting them through the EARB process. Evaluate vendor solutions and platforms for fit within the enterprise landscape. Identify opportunities for technology reuse, consolidation, and optimization. Define transition architectures to support incremental modernization and transformation efforts. Work closely with business leaders, IT operations, cybersecurity, and development teams. Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Serve as a key liaison between business and technology functions. Identify architectural risks and recommend risk response strategies. Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning from an architectural perspective. Qualifications 5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure, security, scalability, and integration. 7+ years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), including governance of solution, data, application, and technology architectures. 5+ years of stakeholder engagement experience – Ability to collaborate with executive leadership, business units, IT teams, and vendors to align technology initiatives with business strategy.
