This position works with the centralized Payroll team to process payroll, prepare standard and customized reports, reconciliations and other month end tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely processing of hourly and salaried payroll for the Stores, CRC and DC team members at Toys R Us Canada and it’s affiliates.
  • Using Ceridian Dayforce and ADP time and attendance system, prepare, verify and post all hours ensuring provincial legislation is met
  • Review all input, transactions and hours for completeness, accuracy ensuring all procedures and/or policies are being met and resolve any discrepancies if required.
  • Prepare weekly transmission data file to Ceridian for payment
  • Provide Customer Service to all locations across Canada concerning Payroll inquiries from team members, management and external agencies
  • Issue Record of Employments on Dayforce and prepare Employment verification letters as required.
  • Ensure Company compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Create, modify reports using Ceridian Dayforce
  • Perform month end functions including journal entries and payroll account reconciliation


Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in Business or Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years Payroll experience
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or working toward PCP designation
  • Experience with multi province Payroll legislation
  • Experience with US payroll experience is an asset
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM Time and Attendance module, ADP WFN or similar Payroll systems
  • Understanding of financial concepts
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable with ability to work flexible hours when required
  • Customer focused with interest in improving processes
  • Ability to work independently, but function as a team member
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • High degree of confidentiality, discretion and security
  • Strong analytical skills, detailed oriented, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
