OverviewAccounts Payable Manager role at JK Executive Strategies, partnering with a global manufacturer to oversee the global AP function. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone with proven expertise who can step in and lead with confidence from day one. Reporting directly to the Treasurer and Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable Manager will lead a team, manage international accounts payable activities, and ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across processes.The successful candidate will bring a strong toolbox of best practices, advanced technical skills, and the ability to navigate complex global AP operations, including multi-currency payments and international compliance.ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements.Manage and optimize workflows using Medius (an invoice management tool).Reconcile vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and manage escalated issues with vendors and internal staff.Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate payment terms where appropriate.Prepare, review, and analyze AP reports, leveraging advanced Excel for reporting and analytics.Oversee international AP operations, including multi-currency (CAD, USD, EUR, and others) and FX considerations.Ensure compliance with internal controls, governance standards, and applicable Canadian and international regulations.Support month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations, accruals, and audit requirements.Collaborate with Finance leadership to drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.5–7+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.Proven ability to lead a team and manage global AP activities.Experience with ERP systems; prior use of Medius is an asset.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong understanding of international AP processes, FX, and compliance requirements.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Track record of implementing process improvements and managing vendor relationships effectively.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver under tight deadlines.Salary RangeSalary starting at C$95kJK Executive Strategies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
