Risk Actuary - Life & Health - Reinsurance

Our client, one of the world's largest reinsurers, operates globally across all lines of Property & Casualty and Life & Health reinsurance. They are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Risk Actuary. In this role, you will oversee all internal and external actuarial activities related to the Life & Health portfolio. Your responsibilities will include internal reporting, validation of economic capital valuations, and contributing to the development of actuarial valuation models.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the quarterly actuarial IFRS and forecasting process.
  • Manage all internal and external stakeholder data and documentation requests for financial reporting.
  • Value the reinsurance portfolio in accordance with existing guidance for various reporting models.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of actuarial valuation models using Risk Agility FM, SQL, and Excel (VBA).
  • Ensure documentation and model governance meet international regulatory standards.
  • Conduct actuarial experience studies using R.
  • Support and improve the company's data management processes.
  • Review financial reporting and risk-related tasks performed by team members.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Business Development, Finance departments, and other Group resources.
  • Monitor and support the development of group reporting systems, acting as the key Re7 user for the Corporate Actuarial department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar field.
  • Associate or Fellow of recognized actuarial bodies.
  • Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience in valuation for Life & Health (re)insurance.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II, and local economic capital frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Risk Agility FM, R, SQL, Power BI, and VBA.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
