With approximately 4,000 employees, physicians, volunteers, and learners, we focus on training, mentorship, modern facilities, and enhanced benefits. Responsibilities Assist with planning, organising, and directing clinical care in Youth Forensic Services. Serve as liaison between Youth Forensic Services and other departments and external partners. Support preceptorship and learning opportunities for staff. Coordinate patient care assignments and workload for staff. Participate in recruitment and selection of team members when required. Identify and facilitate quality initiatives to improve care. Model professional nursing practice and demonstrate strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills. Act as a leader and resource in the Secure Care Unit and Nova Scotia Youth Facility. Hours of Work 7.5 hour shifts, primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, and travel required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Registered or eligible to be registered with Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) required. Completion of Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) within the last 12 months or BLS Renewal certificate required. Current NCI Certification required. Minimum five (5) years relevant clinical nursing experience required, including three (3) recent mental‑health and addictions experience. Minimum one (1) year leadership experience preferred. Clinical expertise in Mental Health and Addictions required. Certification in Mental Health and Addictions Nursing preferred. Expertise in problem‑solving, decision‑making, negotiation, and conflict resolution required. Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills required. Commitment to lifelong learning, professional development and practice required. Competency in other languages considered an asset.
