Jr Automation SpecialistAs a Junior Automation Specialist, your fresh look at automation will help develop the machines of tomorrow. Junior Automation Specialists are given mentors to learn from and are typically involved in larger projects to learn through examples of their peers.The successful candidate for this position will be involved in component selection, design, electrical schematic drafting, programming (PLCs, robots & HMIs), testing and commissioning. The opportunity to take a project through all life cycles of the project is something our Automation Specialists pride themselves on.The machines we work on range from small special-purpose assembly machines to large converting machines; no two projects are ever the same. We operate in a fast-paced, high-empowerment workplace, so self-motivated individuals looking for a challenge will find this role suitable.Required skills and experience:Automation based diploma or degree or at least 1 year of relevant experience in design or programming through a co-op placementAdditional experience is an assetWell qualified candidates will have:Allen-Bradley based PLC & HMI programming experienceUnderstanding of industrial robots, and experience with programming is preferredExperience with drafting software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorksAn ability to navigate and understand industrial electrical schematicsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work alone or in groupsAbility to work remotely while maintaining efficiency and quality of workAbility to travel (International) up to 2 weeks at a timeAll applicants must be able to perform the following tasks as an automation specialist:Walk up to 5 km per dayLift up to 50 lbsStand and work at heights (training will be provided if required)Work in confined spaces (training will be provided if required)React quickly to soundsWear protective gear, including safety shoes, glasses, vests, and masks as required #J-18808-Ljbffr
