Chief Power Engineer (Second Class) We are looking for a Chief Power Engineer (Second Class) to lead a team of engineers and oversee operations, maintenance, and management of industrial plants, including boilers, potable water facilities and lagoon systems. About the Role Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the role is full‑time (Monday to Friday) with occasional on‑call weekends. Key Responsibilities Oversee operation and maintenance of the utilities network (steam system, boilers, thermal fluid heaters, plant natural gas, process water, potable water, sewer, compressed air and environmental lagoons) within a multi‑disciplined group Direct and supervise 4 operating crews, totaling 11 power engineers Work as a member of the technical team and act as the area representative for various engineering projects Oversee and manage contractor work in the area Attend regular planning meetings across multiple departments Manage and forecast costs for the assigned sector Participate and lead continuous improvement projects Lead practical problem‑solving workshops with team members and trades Qualifications Commitment to safety of yourself and your team Minimum Second‑Class Power Engineer Certification for Technical Safety BC (or eligibility) Minimum 3 years experience in a Chief Power Engineer role Ability to obtain the following EOCP certifications within 6 months of employment: Water Treatment level 3, Water Distribution level 2, Wastewater Collection level 1 Comprehensive knowledge of power plant operation principles, practices and maintenance of associated equipment Skill in controlling and operating boilers and auxiliary equipment Ability to prepare routine operating reports, SOPs/technical guidance and accurate record keeping Ability to coach others and collaborate Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems Pressure Equipment Inspector certification (NBBI) is an asset What We Offer Competitive base salary $111,200 – $166,800 CAD and discretionary benefits Safety‑first work environment Career development & education assistance Annual incentive program and share ownership plan Comprehensive health, medical, pension and savings plans Leave for life’s reasons (vacation, parental, sick) Employee discounts Location Kitimat, BC.
