Strategic Operations Associate, Marketplace & Planning Join to apply for the Strategic Operations Associate, Marketplace & Planning role at Uber. As part of one of Uber's most important ridesharing markets, this role will have an immediate impact on our business strategy and marketplace performance—owning initiatives across pricing, promotions, and products. You'll work closely with leadership to shape strategic direction, lead key initiatives, and develop innovative, data‑driven solutions that enhance our rider and driver experience. About The Role The Marketplace & Planning team is responsible for the Canada P&L, pricing, incentives, and strategic planning. Additionally, the team leads the low‑cost product portfolio in Canada, which includes Share and Wait & Save. This role sits within a high‑impact, high‑visibility team requiring strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to own projects from strategy through to execution. What You'll Do Drive Strategic Initiatives: Lead high‑impact projects that shape Uber Canada's Mobility strategy, including the development of go‑to‑market strategies for key products and crafting competition strategy. Develop Data‑Driven Insights: Analyze complex datasets to provide actionable recommendations to leadership, directly influencing Uber Canada's P&L and informing key business decisions. Optimize Resource Allocation: Build advanced models and frameworks to guide effective capital allocation across the Canadian markets. Collaborate Cross‑Functionally: Work closely with product, marketing, operations, and analytics teams to implement and scale new programs and product rollouts, aligning initiatives with customer needs and business objectives. Generate Actionable Marketplace Insights: Stay attuned to market dynamics across Canada, developing strategies to adapt to changing conditions and maintain Uber's competitive edge. Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree. 1+ years' of professional work experience in a related field such as operations, marketing analytics, consulting, technology, strategy, or analytics. SQL and Excel/Google Sheets proficiency. Preferred Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, business intelligence, strategy, or related fields. Working knowledge in applying SQL, Python, R, Stata, or similar statistical languages and tools. Proficiency in French is a plus. High‑growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred. Customer service experience—working closely with earners and ensuring they have an amazing experience on the Uber platform. Phenomenal collaborator who proactively works across teams, can influence senior and external stakeholders. Storytelling through data: transform data analyses into an understandable storyline across technical and non‑technical audiences to influence business decisions. Data‑driven mentality: make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation, balancing detail with the big picture. Communication: ability to interpret and present data to various audiences in an engaging, comprehensive, and succinct manner. Teamwork: demonstrate optimism, respect others, promote a team environment where individuals can communicate and contribute freely. Executional excellence: deliver results in a fast‑paced and ambiguous environment while maintaining high‑quality work standards. Planning & organization: create detailed project plans with stages, milestones, dependencies, and owners. For Canada‑based roles: the base salary range for this role is CAD$89,000 per year - CAD$99,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
