What you’ll do:

  1. Manage and consult with external environmental consultants, contractors, lawyers, regulatory authorities, landlords and franchisees/dealers on environmental projects
  2. Ensure sites are compliant with respect to applicable environmental regulations
  3. Manage environmental projects including Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments, risk assessment, decommissioning, remediation, spill response and long-term monitoring
  4. Review work scopes from both a technical and business standpoint and ensure project objectives and schedule requirements are met
  5. Manage the tender process including proposals, tender documents and invoices for all projects relating to the role
  6. Lead a team of professionals including engineers, contractors, consultants, lawyers, regulatory authorities on complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  7. Consult with the corporation's design and construction, acquisition, disposition, and Petroleum teams
  8. Review environmental reports, proposals, and legal agreements to ensure technical content and financial components meet objectives
  9. Provide regular updates to senior leaders and key stakeholders on project status and budgets
  10. Develop and maintain external relationships with key industry personnel
  11. Visit sites, attend meetings, and interact with internal staff, consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, etc.
  12. Research issues, develop best management practice solutions, and monitor the Legislative landscape

What you bring:

  • 5-10 years of experience in an environmental project management role
  • Professional Engineer/Geologist designation or a post secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science or related field is preferred
  • Experience and technical knowledge of Phase I and Phase II ESA practices, remediation technologies, risk assessments, equipment decommissioning, and tendering practices across Canada
  • Ability to manage a budget effectively and ensure compliance with environmental legislation in all provinces
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Good organizational skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, Access & Power Point
  • Availability to travel throughout Canada
