What you’ll do:
- Manage and consult with external environmental consultants, contractors, lawyers, regulatory authorities, landlords and franchisees/dealers on environmental projects
- Ensure sites are compliant with respect to applicable environmental regulations
- Manage environmental projects including Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments, risk assessment, decommissioning, remediation, spill response and long-term monitoring
- Review work scopes from both a technical and business standpoint and ensure project objectives and schedule requirements are met
- Manage the tender process including proposals, tender documents and invoices for all projects relating to the role
- Lead a team of professionals including engineers, contractors, consultants, lawyers, regulatory authorities on complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Consult with the corporation's design and construction, acquisition, disposition, and Petroleum teams
- Review environmental reports, proposals, and legal agreements to ensure technical content and financial components meet objectives
- Provide regular updates to senior leaders and key stakeholders on project status and budgets
- Develop and maintain external relationships with key industry personnel
- Visit sites, attend meetings, and interact with internal staff, consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, etc.
- Research issues, develop best management practice solutions, and monitor the Legislative landscape
What you bring:
- 5-10 years of experience in an environmental project management role
- Professional Engineer/Geologist designation or a post secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science or related field is preferred
- Experience and technical knowledge of Phase I and Phase II ESA practices, remediation technologies, risk assessments, equipment decommissioning, and tendering practices across Canada
- Ability to manage a budget effectively and ensure compliance with environmental legislation in all provinces
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Good organizational skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, Access & Power Point
- Availability to travel throughout Canada
